The Greenwich Police Department provides public safety services to a diverse community of over 62,000 residents only 20 miles from NYC. In addition to law enforcement, GPD is the first responder to all medical calls in Greenwich and is at the forefront of meeting the most challenging issues within the Town. GPD is one of the few municipal police agencies in CT providing full service policing operations, including its own forensics lab, a dedicated community policing team and a Marine Section with several vessels. The Greenwich Police Department is now accepting applications from Connecticut POST Certified Officers and Out-of-State Certified Police Officers and State Troopers with at least two years of certified Police Officer/Trooper experience.

Lateral Transfer Applicant requirements: • Currently a POST Certified Connecticut Police Officers. • Currently a Certified Connecticut State Trooper. • Currently an Out-of-State Certified Police Officers or State Troopers. • At least 2 years of certified Police Officer/Trooper experience (The two years experience must have occurred after obtaining certification). • Connecticut Certified State Troopers and Out-of-State Certified Police Officers that receive a conditional offer of employment will be required to successfully complete the process for comparative compliance with POSTC. • Candidates will be required to attest to have passed their probationary period with their current agency and that they are in good standing with their current agency.
